On the morning of April 15th, 2024, Wei Dajiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electronic Information Engineering at South Central Minzu University, along with his delegation, visited the College of Optoelectronic Engineering.
Wei Dajiang introduced the basic situation of the School of Electronic Information Engineering at South Central Minzu University and discussed the school’s fundamental approach to seeking development amid arising from the transition and upgrading of Minzu university schools, optimizing the discipline structure, and increasing the proportion of science and engineering students. Wei Dajiang noted that South Central Minzu University is a parnter support unit of Chongqing University, and students from the School of Electronic Information Engineering have always had good exchanges with Chongqing University. He hoped that the two institutions could strengthen cooperation in areas such as faculty visits, student exchanges, and further education for students further. Qin Lan, the Party Secretary of the College of Optoelectronic Engineering, warmly welcomed Wei Dajiang and his delegation. Vice Dean Huang Hong gave a brief introduction to the development history and basic situation of the college.
Both parties exchanged views on measures and experiences regarding the refinement of undergraduate program characteristics, the positioning and implementation of training objectives, the integration of industry and education, as well as the development of visiting scholars and college platforms within the context of engineering education accreditation and the construction of new engineering disciplines. Attendees also included Hou Jin, Vice Dean of the School of Electronic Information Engineering at South Central Minzu University, as well as the office director, student office director, and undergraduate teaching management staffs from the College of Optoelectronic Engineering at Chongqing University.
